Open Question

What does it feel like to be pregnant?

In Pregnancy

Well, the first few months it feels like you want to vomit... a lot... for me, at least! I couldn't even LOOK at a slice of swiss cheese or get within 1000 yards of a glass of tomato juice without ralphing up my Saltines. It also feels like someone is constantly sandpapering your nipples, which is NOT the most pleasant feeling in the world (at one very sad point early in my first pregnancy, I ripped my bra off in the middle of a crowded sidewalk because it felt like my breasts were on fire! True story). Anyway, if you can survive the first few months, it's a cakewalk after that (plus all the fun stuff happens, like the first time you hear the heartbeat, the first ultrasound, feeling the baby start to move). Then the last few weeks are pretty rough. Heartburn, waking up with charley horses in your legs, an uncontrollable urge to clean and organize... It's a pretty crazy thing to go through, but worth every minute once you hold that wailing pink alien in your arms for the first time and think to yourself "Put it back in! I'm not ready for this yet!"
