Open Question

Why did Andy Warhol paint Campbell's soup?

In Arts & Humanities

He was reflecting the culture of his time by portraying common icons, or at least presenting well known symbols as cultural icons. Campbell's soup was a very common brand and a part of the lives of millions of people.
Andy Warhol may not have even painted many of the images he became famous for, since he ran a studio called, "The factory" which was like, as the name implies, a factory with his many assistants or apprentices who would do a lot of the actual painting in place of him.
